E-CONTRAIL 2nd General Assembly Meeting

The 2nd General Assembly Meeting of the E-CONTRAIL project took place in Brussels on January 30th, allowing both in-person and remote participation. The meeting brought together the project consortium to review progress, address challenges, and outline future steps.

Key Discussions and Outcomes

The team explored strategies to address uncertainties in relative forcing estimates, including the use of probability masks. Also, they emphasized the importance of awaiting results from the next experiment to assess the effectiveness of improved algorithms.

Another key focus was enhancing data clustering strategies to improve analysis accuracy. Additionally, the team agreed on the need for qualitative validation of results, given potential challenges with quantitative comparisons due to differing metrics.

Web Interface Development

A central topic was the development of a user-friendly web interface to visualize project results. The interface would allow users to select reference times, view predictions, and toggle different data layers. Public accessibility was emphasized, with plans for outreach through QR codes and links to published papers.

The E-CONTRAIL 2nd General Assembly Meeting served as a valuable opportunity for the team to review their progress, address data gaps, and plan for the next steps in the project's development. With a focus on improving algorithms, refining clustering methods, and Expanding outreach via digital tools and publications, the team is moving forward with a commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible results and to ensuring that the project's impact will be felt across scientific communities and beyond.
