E-CONTRAIL attends SESAR Aviation Green Deal Flagship Meeting

The E-CONTRAIL project was featured at the SESAR Green Deal Flagship exploitation activity held on Thursday, 15th of May, in Lisbon during the Airspace World conference. This periodic gathering provides a valuable opportunity for SESAR projects to share progress and exchange ideas on reducing the environmental impact of air transport.

During the session, the project coordinator, Manuel Soler, presented the E-CONTRAIL project's innovative strategies aimed at understanding contrail effects and minimizing their climate impact through the use of artificial intelligence algorithms. The research is already yielding promising insights that can inform future regulations and operational strategies to effectively mitigate aviation’s non-CO₂ climate impacts.

In addition to E-CONTRAIL, the event highlighted fellow Green Deal flagship projects including F4EClim, STEPLESS, AEROPLANE, GREEN GEAR, CICONIA, CONCERTO, GALAAD, DYN MARS, GEESE, ECHOES, and HERON. Each contributed unique perspectives and technical solutions to the collective vision of greener aviation under SESAR’s guidance.
