Register your participation in the contest using this website form ^ to get a chance of winning our Best Contrail Capture award.
Don't forget to use the same email you used to log in the Contrail Observer app!
Who
Anyone can participate, from scientists to nature lovers and sky enthusiasts. If you look up and see contrails, snap a photo, and join the movement.
You can send as many photographs as you wish. The more photos we receive, the better, every shot counts!
Why
Unlike the movie "Don't Look Up", where warnings were ignored, we’re calling on you to take action: By documenting contrails, you will directly contribute to scientific research, enhancing contrail prediction models and helping develop solutions to reduce aviation's climate footprint.
Plus, your photography skills can bring you the unique opportunity to meet the experts behind the project and gain firsthand insight into their work to combat climate change.
Participate
This initiative challenges everyone to look up to the skies and spot contrails, those fine white lines generated by airplanes, whose action on the Earth's atmosphere may affect global warming, although their impact is still uncertain.
Studying contrails behavior and finding solutions to mitigate their climate impact is the goal of the E-CONTRAIL and Reviate projects.
By participating in this movement, you’ll be providing real-world data to help our researchers validate and refine their algorithms to predict contrail-formation regions. The ultimate goal is optimizing flight planning to minimize aviation's climate impact.
