E-CONTRAIL at the EUMETSAT 2025: Advancing Contrail Radiative Forcing Estimation

Ermioni Dimitropoulou participated in the EUMETSAT Meteorological Satellite Conference 2025, held in Lyon, France from 15 to 19 September. In the session Tools and Algorithms, she presented "Satellite-based Estimation of Contrail Cirrus Cloud Radiative Forcing Derived through a Rapid Contrail-RF Estimation Approach", showcasing key outcomes of the E-CONTRAIL project.

Her presentation highlighted the algorithm developed within the project for estimating the radiative forcing of ice clouds and provided new insights into the seasonality of contrail RF. The session generated very positive feedback, underscoring both the scientific relevance and the practical value of this work in advancing contrail-aware climate assessments.
