E-CONTRAIL at the EUROCONTROL Showcase Summit: Highlights from Brussels

The E-CONTRAIL project participated yesterday in the EUROCONTROL Showcase Summit: Smart Sustainable Skies, hosted at EUROCONTROL Headquarters in Brussels. The event brought together aviation stakeholders committed to advancing climate-aligned operations, offering the perfect setting to present the project’s latest developments.

During the Summit, the E-CONTRAIL team showcased the Policy Brief “Making Contrails Visible” and demonstrated the interactive E-CONTRAIL Dashboard, which translates our scientific results into operationally relevant insights for contrail-aware decision-making.

The response from visitors to our stand was highly encouraging, with strong interest in our research and particularly positive feedback on the clarity and relevance of the Policy Brief. At the same time, a key message consistently emerged: important knowledge gaps remain, highlighting the need for continued research to further refine and operationalise contrail-mitigation strategies.

All in all, these exchanges confirm the increasing momentum behind contrail mitigation and reinforce E-CONTRAIL’s role in supporting evidence-based policy and more sustainable aviation.
